LIFE SIZE BRONZE STATUE OF CAPABILITY BROWN BY LAURY DIZENGREMEL

THE CAPABILITY BROWN STATUE A WORLD FIRST!

TARGET £40000

UPDATED NEWS: The national commemorative statue to Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown is on its way to completion – the first ever statue of England’s greatest 18th-century landscaper designer. Sculpted by Laury Dizengremel and cast at Ai Wei-Wei’s foundry in Chengdu it has been shipped from China and is now proudly displayed at the Trentham Estate in Staffordshire. From there the bronze Capability will make his way to the riverside at Hammersmith where he will stand as a permanent legacy, a memorial of the 300th year of his birth.

How you can help:

After three years' work the project is moving rapidly towards completion, but more funds are urgently needed!

The first stage saw the money raised from individual donations enable the statue to be made and prepared for casting. Now planning permission has been agreed for the chosen site, we have been able to move on to the second fund-raising stage.

This includes the costs of casting the bronze statue and shipping to the UK, the remuneration of the sculptor who has given so generously of her time, and there will be the installation, the plaque and other associated calls on funds.

Please help make Capability Brown in Hammersmith a reality!
