LIFE SIZE BRONZE STATUE OF CAPABILITY BROWN
BY LAURY DIZENGREMEL

The national commemorative statue to Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, the first ever statue of England’s greatest 18th century landscape gardener, has been unveiled on the Riverside Walk in Hammersmith.

It was sculpted by the talented and internationally known sculptor, Laury Dizengremel, with advice and input from John Phibbs, the leading Brown historian. Cast at the foundry used by Ai Wei-Wei in Chengdu, it was shipped from China, and displayed at Brown’s famous landscape at Trentham, Staffordshire before moving to Hammersmith.

The bronze Capability stands as a permanent legacy celebrating the 300th year of his birth and the time he lived in Hammersmith.

Where: Distillery Wharf, Chancellors Road, Hammersmith, London W6 9LH.
